Hello DA! Long time no talk, huh?
I apologize for the random disappearance, but I haven't exactly been spending much time on my laptop the past few weeks. Even more surprising, I actually don't want too. Never thought I'd say no to just sitting around and browsing through stuff, haha. Anyway, I am doing very well, better than I previous thought I would be feeling. I'll keep this journal short and brief, like usual, so I can begin browsing through the many, many notifications I now have on here. Anyone miss me? Or even noticed I disappeared? Lol, I really don't care either way, that break was needed away from the internet world.
To begin with, remember in my last journal or so I mentioned that me and my ex were now friends? Yeah, that's still in play, surprisingly. For so many months, I was convinced he hated me ever since the break-up. I figured he wanted nothing to do with me and was happy with his new girlfriend. However, that turned out to be false. Perhaps I wanted to see him again when my friend asked me if he could join us to hang out one day. Like they really needed my permission, haha. I was sitting in McDonald's (our typical hang-out/meeting spot; sad, I know xD) with one of my friends and he walked through the door and up until that moment, I was thinking he hated me. When he walked through those doors, it all went out the window. Every bad thought, everyone's criticism of him, everything. Just gone like that. Believe me, it was awkward, but we fell immediately back into our old patterns of cracking jokes and laughing and just having fun. He is in college now (Ironically the college I went to last year), so after having a couple of sleepovers with other friends, we ended up talking about everything, from beginning to end. What happened over the summer are two very different stories when it comes to us. What happened to him was pretty...well, brutal, to be blunt. I felt almost guilty that I was having so much fun last summer. Anyway, without going into too much detail about that, I will say that he was going through a court case all on his own. The whole thing was so stupid too. It was a complete set-up and he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Well, that's what I originally thought. It's not my place or business to discuss the whole story about that on here, but I will tell you guys that just the other day, they dropped the case because there was not enough evidence against him. So basically he's innocent. And you will have no idea how relieved I am about that. He now has a future once more. His girlfriend ended up dumping him (long distance relationship and they were constantly fighting/bickering) so now we can enjoy life as single people for the time being. Here's the catch though: His parents hate me and mine hate him. If I go to college out of state it might make things easier if we do decide to move forward together, but for now, we're just enjoying the time spent together.
Onto more exciting news. I finally got an internship! An equine one, thankfully. Here's the funny part. The barn is only 15-30 minutes from my house. So much for going some place else for the summer, but oh well. I like staying close to my friends and my parents, anyway. The barn is mainly dressage and this isn't your typical lesson barn full of school/lesson ponies/horses. These horses have competed at high levels and a few are even imported from other countries. The barn itself is very neat and well taken care of. I wouldn't say high-class, but they've been at this a long time. The location is perfect too. Off the beaten path but a perfect view of one of the larger skiing mountains. I begin tomorrow (Monday the 30th) and will be doing a two week trial to make sure I want to do this and to get a hang of things at the barn. From there, I'll be working 5 days a week from 8am until 5pm. I am getting paid and a lesson everyday (I think), so I can't wait.
Now, onto photography. I've been on pause with that because there's really not much to take photos of around the area. The snow is melting, but there's plenty of that cross stuff that's been piled up all winter. The trees are bare and the grasses are plain and not yet green. So in this transition to spring, or mud season as us New England folks call it, my photography is limited. I did go out on a rainy day to take photos of old, abandoned barns and whatnot, so I'll have a couple photos from that day. With this new horse internship, I can take photos up there, so keeping my fingers crossed.
I've also gotten into fantasy books lately. When I say fantasy, I mean medieval stuff. Or just plain fiction fantasy with made up lands, magic, names, etc. Anything with swords, magic, quests, etc. If you have good book suggestions, I would love to hear them
With all of that said, it's time for me wrap up this journal. I hope everyone has been well and if not, I wish you the best.
Until next time,

Same Old, Same Old.
Hello! Long time no see, huh? Honestly, I have 0 inspiration or motivation to come onto DA, except maybe for a couple of groups that don't even have to do with photography. There's too much spam, too much AI, many folks are leaving or abandoning their accounts...there doesn't seem to be much of a reason to stay. I haven't touched my camera in months. When you have 95+° days with humidity nine months out of the year, it's hard to get outside for any amount of time. There's only fleeting moments during the rest of the time to visit state parks or go on walks. I do have a question. Is there another photography website that anyone has been posting on that's a better alternative to DA? I'm been debating returning to Flickr, that's the only one I know. I took another long hatius mostly due to holidays and work, but I'm slowly getting back on my laptop. I'd much rather be reading, which I got back into last year. Don't expect many posts though. Until next time!
Is The Hatius Over?
Hello fellow Deviantart folks! I am alive and well, don't you worry. I simply haven't had the motivation to return to DA. I'm assuming I haven't missed much? My photography has been lacking, mostly due to work hours and the weather. I live along the west coast of Florida and the heat/humidity is quickly taking over, making any walk miserable. I'm not a morning person so walking at dawn is next to impossible by the time I awaken and get out of bed. I've added a couple of albums to my computer in the past month or two, but no trips to state parks or anything. Too many people, too hot, and little to no time. This website hasn't given me any incentive to come back, except I'm growing a bit keen to continue my stories, though I'm highly considering starting over. In any case, I've discovered books once more and my small bookshelf has some new additions. My laptop has mostly sat untouched in the past few weeks and I rarely miss it. I used to spend hours and hours on the computer since
First DD?
Well, apparently I got my first DD today. Save the congratulations until after you've read this. Now, before I continue, please note that I am very grateful for this. Do not mistake my rant for ignorance. I just need to get something off my chest. I do appreciate this. I've been on DeviantArt for 11 years. I've seen many changes this site has gone through, many deviants come and go, and seen many artworks. My photography has changed significantly in that timeframe as well as my literature. That being said, of all the pieces I've uploaded over the years, both literature and not, this is the piece that's been chosen? Some 600 word ramble I put together in half an hour? A piece that's hardly connected to my main storyline in that group, just some claim attempt to gain a another herd member? Again, do not mistake my rant for something else, I'm just a bit confused and fustrated. That 600 word piece is barely who I am and what I do. If one of my photographs were chosen, I'd
[ Cottonwood-Valley ] - Herd Trackers.
Greetings! For anyone that follows my adventure through Cottonwood-Valley (a wild horse arpg), both in the group and outside, I decided to finally update my two herd trackers. You can now view the members in each herd with the exception of foals. There's also theme songs, voice claims, and a little information of personalities and backstories. Nothing is written is stone, so details can always change, especially if the horses switch owners. For personal reference, I also keep track of which mares are pregnant. Below are the links to each Google Docs of the two herds and below that is the link to my trading/selling journal for the group. This is only for the Cottonwood-Valley group; all details and designs below to their rightful owners.
